Physical activity can be practiced, sometimes conditional on eyewear protection. See the following list to help you
determine whether or not you should practice a sport.
Activities that can be done the day after surgery:
- Non-contact sports such as aerobics, running, bicycling, cross-country skiing, weight lifting, cardio…
- If outside, wear sunglasses to protect from wind, dust and branches.
- Contact sports such as tennis, badminton, volley-ball, karate, can only be practiced with protective eye gear (like squash goggles) during one month.
- Hockey with full visor or cage.
- Skiing or snowmobiling with goggles.
Activities that can be done only after a week:
- Swimming with face under water, snorkeling, scuba diving.
Activities that can be done only after six months:
- Extreme sports such as boxing and kickboxing.
